Model Citizens NYC 2012!!! May 19, 20, & 21.

Yup, that’s right, THE platform for independent & emerging design is happening

@ an undisclosed location, but it’s good to get excited – we are! APPLY NOW!

You all know by now that Model Citizens NYC 2011, our 3rd annual, showcased the diverse work of over 100 domestic and international designers, as well as show retail shop, all of which was open to both the trade, and the public. Take Me There! Check out these great snapshots of the event if you missed it Here! courtesy of Lucas Roy, of Studio Mercury.

And that was a great show! But we are ready to open the windows, and Blue Sky this event! Quite possibly in the literal sense, ssshhhh.

Our inspiration for 2012:

LOCAL TRANSPORTATION & LOCAL COMMUNITIES – which means if you design for bikes or boards, or new modes of transport, great! Or if your work is about collaborating with, is inspired by, helps sustain, educate, or gives back to a community, right on!

And if that isn’t what your work is all about not to worry – we have room for it all!

Model Citizens NYC showcases and celebrates the current & contemporary design diversity of independent, and emerging designers. For our designers that means- you do you! Check out some of our press from May 2011 to get an idea.

Are YOU a Model Citizen?

Call for Submissions Guidelines:

YOU – submit an example of your exceptional work – work with an authentic and clearly original point of view! We want to see your voice, your consideration, and the love for what YOU do in your work, so dig deep. We will showcase conceptual work, socially responsible or sustainable projects, design prototypes, production ready work, or product collections of  furniture, products, lighting, ceramics, glass, jewelry & accessories. (Designers/ makers of Architecture, Communication Design, and 3 Dimensional Fine Art are also encouraged to apply.)

1. Clear image(s) of piece, concept, or collection- jpegs, please.

2. Brief description about you or your  brand, & your design intent.

3. Link to your site (if available).

4. Size of space you are interested in.

SUBMISSION DUE – MARCH 1St, 2012. Selected exhibitors will be notified by March 8th.

PAYMENT FOR PARTICIPATION DUE – APRIL 1st – really, no fooling.

Space sizes & costs: (are subject to change slightly)

A) 3 x 3’ / $375       B) 3 x 6’ / $750      C) 5 x 8’ / $1,400     D) 10 x10’ / $3,500

Note: Space sizes refer to general dimensions and NOT preset booths.
